live in
With
thirteen churches or groups serving meals
around town – albeit stretched between Port Orchard,
Even these thirteen churches and groups, along with the Bremerton Salvation
Army, which serves no evening meals, cannot
meet the demands of nearly 1,400 folks who are homeless in Kitsap
County – spread from Port Orchard to Poulsbo and beyond.
At present there are only twenty-five
beds for single homeless men in
Bremerton Rescue Mission’s aim is to
bring the individual off the street, or out of the camp, out of
the shelter, and into learning a new way to live. Once we have our mobile
service up and running we’ll concentrate on purchasing homes that will provide
residence for the men and women who would want to find a new life – away from
the old life.
The
Believing in the principles of
Christian stewardship – to marshal our time, talent and treasure for God’s
kingdom - the
Bremerton Rescue Mission will be
serving in a very honoring way
with excellent meals, showers,
hygiene packs and more in a well-lit and loving environment with good stories,
prayer and friendships. This is why we are investing in high end equipment –
shower trailer and catering truck.
